Blademar Handles Generator Imports for Google’s Operations

We are pleased to highlight another specialized logistics operation completed by our member, Blademar S.A. from Uruguay, involving the import and delivery of industrial power generators destined for Google, as part of the company’s operations in Uruguay.

The maritime transportation of industrial generator sets requires precise logistics planning, as every decision can directly affect the safety, integrity, and performance of the equipment. Given the size and high value of the cargo, Blademar implemented specialized handling and protection measures throughout the operation.

Specialized Handling for High-Value Industrial Equipment

The operation included several important measures designed to protect the generators throughout their journey:

• Reinforced stowage and securing: Frames and specialized lashing systems were used to maintain cargo stability throughout the maritime transportation.
• Controlled vertical positioning: The generators were kept in the appropriate position to help prevent oil or fuel leakage and preserve the integrity of the equipment.
• Protection against humidity and saline environments: Specific protective materials and anti-corrosion treatments were applied to safeguard the cargo against maritime conditions.
• Incoterms-based planning: Responsibilities, risks, and transport coverage were coordinated according to the defined Incoterms conditions.

From Port Reception to Final Delivery

Blademar’s involvement extended beyond the maritime transportation process. The team also participated in the reception of the cargo at the port, coordinated the transfer of the generators from container to truck according to the required handling conditions, and managed delivery to the final destination.

Each stage was coordinated with a focus on operational continuity and cargo control, ensuring that the equipment arrived in optimal condition and ready for installation and operation.

The project demonstrates Blademar’s experience in managing industrial and high-value cargo requiring more than conventional transportation. Through structured processes, specialized handling, and careful execution, the company provided the level of precision required for this important operation.
