VISA
 

Travelers must hold a valid passport or travel document with a minimum of six months beyond the intended period of visit. Visas can be obtained from Vietnam Embassies abroad or at the airport. Ministry of foreign affairs also supply an e-visa service on their website which makes to get visa much more easier. Visa Exemption Countries
Citizens of neighboring nations in Southeast Asia, including Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Laos, can visit for 30 days without a visa. Citizens of the Philippines can stay for 21 days visa-free, citizens of South Korea and Japan can stay without a visa for 15 days and citizens of Brunei and Myanmar can stay visa-free for 14 days.

Vietnam's new visa policy effective from 15th August 2023 extends stay duration for 13 countries enjoying unilateral visa exemption from 15 days to 45 days, regardless of passport type and entry purpose. Foreign passengers who are exempt from visas under international treaties that Vietnam signed or based on visa reciprocity.

These countries include Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus.

Vietnam Electronic Visa (e-Visa)

Vietnamese visa is a kind of travel documents granted by Vietnamese competent authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.
 

An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for maximum of 30 days, single entry. Simply apply online for your tourist E-visa, valid for 30 days.
 

You can enter Vietnam on an e-Visa at any of the country’s eight international airports, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang, as well as 14 land crossings and seven seaports. List of countries allowed E-Visa issuing.
 

E-visa fee is paid via electronic payment gateway as prescribed by the Immigration Department. The fee will not be refunded if the application is refused.

Da Nang, the third-largest city in Vietnam, is a vibrant center of commerce, tourism, and education. It offers easy access to the UNESCO-recognized Hoi An Ancient Town, fabulous beach resorts, the addictive Banh Mi, and some of the most incredible beaches in Vietnam.
 

This coastal city gained its reputation with its powdery white sand and crystal-clear beaches, which are ideal destinations for water sports enthusiasts. Nature blends harmoniously with its surroundings, making it worth spending some of your leisure time there. Despite having some temples and government buildings, modern bridges have really put Da Nang on the international travel map.
 

The Marble Mountains, My Khe Beach, and Hoi An are among the most delightful hotspots near Da Nang. The Dragon Bridge and Golden Bridge in Danang have recently become famous spiritual and religious destinations. The nostalgic architecture of the hands, together with the pristine nature around, creates a wonderful backdrop for the main bridge. Coated in gold, the bridge’s brilliant color stands out while still harmonizing with the surrounding scenery.

Transportation

As one of the most beautiful, exciting, and popular cities in Vietnam, getting to Da Nang is easy with a number of private and public transport options available. This includes everything from flying to trains, buses, and cars.
 

Planes: Vietnam has a good network of domestic flights, with several carriers providing regular and frequent services between other cities and provinces and Danang.
Trains: A train network connects Danang to other cities from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi
Buses: Affordable and connect major areas and attractions.
Taxis: Widely available and convenient for short trips.
Motorbike Rentals: Popular for flexible and local travel.
Ride-Sharing Apps: Services like Grab offer convenient and often cheaper options.

Climate
Danang has a tropical monsoon climate with two seasons: a typhoon and wet season from September to December and a dry season from January to August. Temperatures have an annual average of around 26 °C (79 °F). During our conference in late May and early June, Da Nang typically experiences warm and humid weather with temperatures ranging from 26°C to 35°C (79°F to 95°F). This period falls at the beginning of the dry season, so you can expect mostly sunny days with minimal rain, making it a good time for outdoor activities.

Language
The national language of Vietnam is Vietnamese. In big cities and tourist areas, people often speak basic English.

Time
Vietnam is 7 hours ahead of London, UK; 12 hours ahead of New York, US; and 3 hours behind Sydney, Australia. The timezone of Vietnam is GMT+7.

Currency and Credit Cards
The Vietnamese currency is the Dong (VND or d) and there are bank notes of 10000d, 200000d, 50000d, 100000d, 200000d & 500000d. Although rarer, coins of 500d, 1000d and 5000d are also in circulation. The majority of Vietnamese ATMs accept Visa cards, but other foreign cards are accepted too. In case an ATM doesn’t support your card type, you can go to a foreign bank and try there. ATM withdrawal limits range between 2 million and 10 million VND per transaction and they’re higher at international bank ATMs.

Electricity
Vietnam mainly uses 220V but in some areas, 110V is also used. A mixture of flat and round 2-pin outlets are used throughout the country. It is recommended to bring a universal plug adaptor.

Business Hours
A normal working day in Vietnam starts from 7am to 8.30am and finish between 4pm to 6pm, from Monday to Friday and until noon on Saturday, leave the afternoon (most) and Sunday off.

Banks: 8 am - 4 pm weekdays, 8 am -12 pm Saturday
Offices and museums: around 8 am - 5 pm (varies from place to place, and some museums can close on Mondays, as well as take a “lunch break” from approx. 11:30 pm - 1:30 pm)
Temples and pagodas: 7 am - 8 pm
Restaurants: 11:30 am - 9 pm (with the exception of some Western-style restaurants that are also open earlier for breakfast)
Shops: 8 am - 6 pm

Tipping
Tipping in Da Nang is not expected but is appreciated, especially in restaurants, hotels, and for services like massages or tours. At mid-range to high-end restaurants, a 5-10% tip is common. Small tips for hotel staff, taxi drivers, and tour guides are welcome. For local eateries and street food, tipping isn't necessary but rounding up the bill is a nice gesture.
